Mechanical Engineering in Pune

The department is committed to impart instructions and prepare students according to the curriculum of University of Pune. A student would learn designing, developing, and improving devices, products, processes and systems. The syllabus covers a wide range of topics, including research in dynamics, fluids, materials, solids, and thermodynamics. Several workshops are provided with well-trained supervisors for development for soft skills. The hardware for CAD /CAM lab has high end workstations and latest CAD design and programming software packages.


4 years (Lateral Entry mode of admissions during Second Year of the program is applicable for Diploma holders)

Students would be eligible only if they have obtained more than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics group in Class XII for open Category and 45% for Caste Reservation.


Mechanical engineering is much bigger than other engineering fields, so the job prospects it offers are unending. Industries employing mechanical engineers are: automobile, space research, aeronautics, energy and utilities, air conditioning and bio-mechanical industry. In the government sector, mechanical engineers are needed to run big projects and assume the role of technical consultants and experts.



All the laboratories and workshop are spacious and well-equipped with the latest equipment. A CAD-CAM lab is well-established with advanced technical licensed software such as Pro-E Wildfire. Also, expert technicians are available to guide the students.

The Mechanical Engineering Student Association (MESA) is an active students association which provides a platform for technical curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
