Information Technology Engineering in Pune

The course provides a BE in Information Technology which is an undergraduate program that includes an in-depth study of computer programming and software development. We aim to create well-rounded IT professionals that are able to work in a rapidly changing sphere of computers.

The curriculum is a balance of all things computer, networks, software design to inculcate IT skills. Graduates will have the ability to conduct appropriate research and apply technical skills required for entrepreneurship or running an industry. Further, they will also have the skills to create, design and test softwares and understand IT problems and come up with solutions for them.

 

DURATION:

4 years (Lateral Entry mode of admissions during second year of the program is applicable for Diploma holders)

Students would be eligible only if they have obtained more than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics group in class XII and 45% for caste reservations.

 

COURSE PROSPECTS:

The IT sector is what is driving India’s economy and there is a large need of skilled IT professionals to work in a contemporary environment. Sectors that require hardware and software programming, designing and testing need such professionals. Ethical hacking is another career option for this field.

The technical organization of Students for Information Technology (TOSFIT) is an active student organization which provides a platform for curricular, co-curricular as well as extra-curricular activities. Poster Competition and Paper Presentation on Technical Topics was organized by TOSFIT. Further, workshops on ethical hacking, distributed system application, LATEX have been conducted by the Department of Information Technology for the students.
