The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 is a legislative act in India that seeks to protect women from sexual harassment at their place of work.
Sexual harassment is unwelcome sexual behavior, which could be expected to make a person feel offended, humiliated or intimidated. It can be physical, verbal or written.
Sexual harassment is covered in the workplace when it happens:
- at work
- at work-related events
- between people sharing the same workplace
- between colleagues outside of work.
Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) workshop is conducted at Dhole Patil College of Engineering, Pune on 27/02/17. The Key speaker Dr. Vaishali Shinde (NGO) , Mrs. Uma Dhole Patil (Secretary, Dhole Patil Education Society), Dr. Abhijit Dandavate (Principal, Dhole Patil College of Engineering, Pune) , HODs, Students witnessed the workshop.
Dr. Vaishali Shinde addressed students. She has highlighted how to manage unsolicited act at workplace. Mrs. Uma Dhole Patil enlightened how females should maintain dignity in society.
Dr. Abhijit Dandavate disseminated work process of Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) at Dhole Patil College of Engineering.
Dr. Arati Dandavate gave a presentation on Sexual Harassment at Workplace. She has meticulously covered topics on Sexual Harassment at Workplace. Students were made released how to tackle unwanted situation.
NSS chief Coordinator Prof. Shrikant Jagtap and his team played drama on this topic. The play really gave clear picture of society where these unsolicited acts are commonly seen and heard.
